The egg case was facing east a few inches above ground level. Immediately below this egg case was the remnant of a prior year's egg case. These 2 egg cases are shown in the black box at left. The tree is a silver maple, located in my front yard in a suburban neighborhood. Two additional older egg cases were found in the same tree at 7 feet and 8 feet above ground level.
